Is the same IE (IE10 or 11) used by Surface and Win8-based LapTop

    Question

  • Hi I need urgent verification why this is not working. I am working on Signature app.

I used IE10 in Win8 LapTop to surf this website :http://www.unbolt.net/jSignature/  and I can draw the signature.

But When I used  IE10 in Surface tablet to surf the SAME website, I CANNOT draw the signature.

Why seems to be the problem.

    Thanks

  • Windows 8 is Windows 8. It doesn't matter what form factor (as Matt says, Windows RT is slightly different, but probably not relevantly here). Whether the system is a Surface Pro, a laptop, or a desktop PC is irrelevant.

The signature pane you linked to partiality worked for me in both immersive and desktop browsers on my Windows 8.1 system (IE 11). It got confused between scrolling on touch or inking on touch.

This is off topic for the Windows Store apps forum. For help with using IE please post in the Windows 8 forum on http://answers.microsoft.com

  • Surface RT isn't the same as Windows 8/8.1.  Because RT runs on ARM, can't load plugins that depend on x64/x86 bitness.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • Hi Rob,

Thank for the explanation on the scrolling and inking on touch for Browser.

Finally, I got the problem solved after experimenting with Jquery and JavaScript for creating an internal HTML file

    Thanks
