How to redirect old php website to new ASP.NET web site RRS feed

    Hi Experts,

    i have developed new asp.net site its completed, now i  have uploaded new server with same domain name.(i have old site , which developed in PHP in hosted same domain and different server).


    Now i have big problem, how i can point to my server, when a any request come to old PHP website.

    and seocnd old pages names with querystring, but new asp.net pages working with url rewriting, is there any issues will come when we are redirect from old to new pages.

    Please help me working with working solution.

    you can ask in some php forum, how to redirect the complete php to a new domain. There should be a way to do it , something in and around that .htaccess file.

    4500 pages is not a big issue(are these pages static pages how did you manage so far.)

    If i were you i would not mind inserting a redirect code in the first line of all the pages.

    it is purely network administrator job. For e.g. now may be your server www.yoursite.com points to a server with ip an ip . when you move the server, the network admin will change the yoursite.com is to point to new server ip.

    now the problem your users will face is they have old links(book marked/from search engine), when they hit they will get the 404 error. For this you can use server side redirection using iis tools. Consult this with your network administrator..

    for search engines, you can add a redirect code in all the pages of the old site,


    you could use google.com/webmastertools to register your site and enter the new site information and submit sitemap

    if your old domain dns account manager has the option to redirect to a URL set it...
