  • Hello Brijesh,

First of all, you need to open Visual Studio, find the Outlook 2013 Add-in template and create the project. Then you can add your code to the add-in. Build it and then run Outlook. It is easy as it can be!

The MailItem class provides all the required info. The Attachments property of the MailItem class returns a collection of the Attachment objects (see the Attachments class in Outlook). Please find the list of all members of the Attachment class in MSDN.

To add the required info to the e-mail message you can use the MailItem.Body or MailItem.HtmlBody propertis.

  • Thank you A.m.a.L Hashim,

can you please tell me how to get attachement details for the following:

MD5 hash, file type, file name etc.

    File Name: xyz.jpg

    File Size: 31,527 Bytes

    File Type: Image

    MD5 File Checksum:

    SHA1 File Checksum:

    SHA256 File Checksum:

    Brijesh Vaidya India

    1. The FileName property of the Attachment class returns a String representing the file name of the attachment.

    2. The Size property returns a Long indicating the size (in bytes) of the attachment.

The rest properties you should calculate on your own (in the code).
