Post 2008 upgrade considerations ? What to remove ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • good morning
I upgraded my sql server to sql 2008 without problems. I now have both Sql 2005 and 2008 server, tools, as well as VS 2005 and 2008, which takes a lot of space and mainly a lot of patches to apply.
As this server will only host a small App-v DB, Sccm DB and Sccm Reporting, should I remove the tools and the Engine or is this kept for backward compatibility ?
(In order to 'replace' Sql 2005 by 2008, should I have proceeded in a different way or is this standard  ? ) Note that i can wipe all (win + sql ) and load straight to 2008 if it's recommended.
    thanks in advance
