Windows 8 Boot Screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had completely formatted my system... I installed Windows 8 Enterprise on my D: drive and later Windows 7 Ultimate on C: drive. The issue is that I cannot re-enable the windows 8 boot loader.

I tried to do the automatic repair, but it fails.

Then I tried booting from the Win 8 DVD and in command prompt I entered bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec/fixboot bootrec /scanos... still no changes.

Then I downloaded visual BCD installed it on Windows 8, copied the guid and from the cmd I used the bcdedit /set {windows8 guid} bootmenupolicy standard.

Still I am getting the Windows 7 boot loader itself. Please help me as to how do I revert back to the Windows 8 metro boot loader.

Answers

  • Ok I have solved this issue...

    Install Visual BCD.

    Open Dual Boot Repair

    Select Repair Boot Records

Once the Repair Operation is Completed

Select Repair BCD... This should do the trick!!!
