Remove exchange server 2007 reference from exchange 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I upgraded my exchange 2007 to 2010 12 months ago.

    All runs fine but the management console still shows an exchange 2007 server when this is long gone.

    I'm currently on SP3 for exchange 2010 running on server 2008. I'm going to be upgrading to server 2012 as soon as I can

    How do I remove the reference to the old server that I don't have any more?

  • You can use to remove the the old server by using ADSIEDIT

    Adsiedit.msc-->Configuration-->Services-->Microsoft Exchange-->ORG -->Administrative Group-->Exchange Administrative Group-->Server

    (Under Server container you will find all the server in your organisation(delete the server which is not there in the environment but you still see it in EMC)

  • From all I have read this is the only way you can do it since Exchange info is held in AD. I currently removed a server using this method but be advised that you will need to be careful doing this. Once you have deleted this information it is gone unless you have an AD backup.
