Dev Account for Small Group RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to sign up for a Dev Center account for a small group of people who will be creating apps part time, we do not have a company & would like to take advantage of the current 92% discount.

Does any one know if its possible to sign up for 1 'individual' account using a shared email account that we can log in to, or whether all members of the group should sign up for our own individual accounts?

The problem I'm expecting with the latter option is that the individual accounts ask for a unique 'publisher name', so I don't think the other members of the group would be able to sign up using the same publisher name.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Alex,

In order to register as a company, your group must be an actual company.

In both registration type (individual and company), only 1 Microsoft Account (ex: example@outlook.com) will be able to access the Windows Phone Dev Center account. You will need to share the credentials for the Microsoft Account if you wish multiple members to access the account.

Shared Windows Phone Dev Center account with multiple Microsoft Account associated with it in currently not a supported scenario.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for your answer Dave.  It does seem strange that a group of people can not connect their individual accounts together without being registered as a company, so we'll have to register one individual account and all use that to submit our apps.
