Is there any NFC hardware that we can buy that works with the Proximity APIs? Or if there are currently no compatible devices will this change with the next preview? Thanks

To be distributed by NXP. NXP is investigating possibility of posting driver to their website. Please contact Steven Fera:

Many thanks. It'd be great if you could find some information.
I'm also interested in the Proximity support for Wi-Fi Direct. The presentation http://channel9.msdn.com/events/BUILD/BUILD2011/HW-329T **implied** that existing Wi-Fi devices could be used. However no Proximity support appears when I've plugged-in a new Wi-Fi USB device.
Does it maybe have to a certified Wi-Fi Direct device, e.g. one from http://certifications.wi-fi.org/search_products.php?search=1&advanced=1&lang=en&filter_company_id=&filter_category_id=3&filter_subcategory=&filter_cid=&date_from=&date_to=&selected_certifications%5B%5D=50&x=51&y=18
