can non-Active Directory integrated DNS be enabled on a Windows Server 2012 domain controller? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We use a third party hardware for DNS. Our domain controllers do not have DNS configured and we do not want to have it AD integrated with DNS. We want to be able to enable non-AD integrated DNS on domain controllers on a as needed basis to support regional DNS requirements.

How can non-Active Directory integrated DNS be enabled on a Windows Server 2012 domain controller to provide local DNS functionality for a given region? How is this configured?

I have been researching online but am having no luck.

    Thanks!
