Unable to duplicateAccess DB Form RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am currently working on an access database and I an encountering two things.

    1. There is a form that is being used to display cohort data. It is not allowing me to add more controls to the form. the message "Can't create any more controls on this form or reports.

    2. I an unable to duplicate the form. The msg "No record found" is displayed. This is the only form in the database that cannot be duplicated.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Thanks much.

  • Some questions first:

    1. What version of ACCESS are you using?
    2. How many controls are already on the form?
    3. Why are you duplicating forms in the first place?

  • Per this article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Access-2010-specifications-1E521481-7F9A-46F7-8ED9-EA9DFF1FA854
(and the specs have really not changed much over the versions)

Number of controls and sections that you can add over the lifetime of the form or report

    754

So you may need to import your objects into a new database. That might start it over from scratch. Another option may be the "undocumented" Application.SaveAsText and LoadFromText.
