Does a simple Oracle Procedure to Flat File or a SQL database Exist ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I looked around online for a while and it seemed to me that's there's no real simple solution to have a procedure sitting in oracle to produce an output into a sql table or a file.

the code executes correctly in a SQL task but unfortunately when I use an OLE DB Source in a Data Flow task it throws out an error.

there's no definitive answer online - would anyone know if there's a solution for this that wouldn't involve looping through a cursor and inserting records one by one to a file?

  • Are you using any temp tables inside your SP? If yes, you need to SET FMTONLY OFF before calling the SP or at the start of it.

The only thing you need to consider is that this will cause the SP to be called twice, once to return and validate columns and another time when it is actually called, which may slow down your task a little bit.

    Hope this helps,
