Windows 7 Comunity Edition?

    Question

  • Hi guys!

I would like to be able to use Visual Studio in my laptop with Windows 7, is there any chance there is a free version for that?

    Thanks!

  • Visual Studio 2015 Community should work with Windows 7 Service Pack 1 per the requirements stated in the Community Edition requirements section.

  • Thanks for Reza Mohamed's help.

    Hi JGManzano,

Like Mohamed's suggestion, the latest VS2015 community version was free(need to sign in with the Microsoft account), you could install it in your windows 7 machine, of course, you could also install the Express version.

One issue is that there are some new features in the latest VS2015, for example, it supports the UWP apps or others which are not supported in the old windows version, it would have the specific windows version requirements.

You could download different VS versions included the community or express versions here:

    Best Regards,
