  • My device that is on v.10.0.15063.0 does not see any updates. I press 'Check for Updates' and it says that 'Your device is up to date.' I tried rebooting and this same thing happened. I am connected to wifi.

Is there something special to do to get the update?

  • Using “IoT Dashboard”:
    Windows Insider Preview (15051)

    On the website “www.microsoft.com”:
Windows 10 IOT Core Insider Preview Build 15051
Windows 10 IOT Core Insider Preview Build 15043

    Where is 16176???

To update via the Web interface on the device with WinIoT for me extremely uncomfortable.
And the most interesting if the name in your microsoft account will be written in Cyrillic, access the insider no.

not every insider release will be available as installable version, 16176 will be automatically installed on devices using insider previews

normally your device will be automatically updated

  • I am using VS Community 2017, version 15.1 (26403.3) release.

    .NET Framework version 4.6.01586.

My Raspberry Pi 3 is on the new Windows IoT v.10.0.16176.1000.

When trying to deploy my app in debug from VS, I receive this:

DEP6720: Failed to deploy package 'Native Debugger' (EB22551A-7F66-465F-B53F-E5ABA0C0574E).

DEP6951: Access denied to path on the device: 'C:\Data\Users\DefaultAccount\AppData\Local\DevelopmentFiles\VSRemoteTools\arm\msvsmon.exe'.

My remote machine (Pi) is found and selected in the Properties > Debug page of VS.

I can connect to the Pi via the Device Portal, Network Share and Powershell - but cannot deploy the app via VS.

It used to work in VS 2015, but since upgrading to VS Community 2017, and updating the device to the latest build, I cannot deploy the app.

    Can anyone help please?

  • Hi Chris,

since my RPi 3 updated to 10.0.15063.251 last night I encountered the same problem. I’m using VS 2017 too.

I have solved the problem by doing:

    1. Open Device Portal of your device by using IoT Dashbaord
    2. Stop Visual Studio Remote Debugger if it is running.
    3. Open the network share of your RPi by using IoT Dashboard
    4. Open folder c$\Data\Users\DefaultAccount\AppData\Local
    5. Rename folder ‘DevelopmentFiles’ to ‘DevelopmentFiles_ORIG’. Alternatively you can also delete this folder.
    6. Start debugging in VS 2017. This will take a while because the DevelopmentFiles folder is recreated.

    HTH

    Oliver
