Does "Data Tranfer" rate apply to Azure storage RRS feed

  • Question

  • i was recently studying the subscription structure of Azure - when i noticed that for Azure storage, data transfer rates were not specified.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsazure/offers/popup/popup.aspx?lang=en&locale=en-US&offer=COMPARE_PUBLIC

According to info given in URL:

    The charges that apply are

    1) $0.15 per GB stored per month

    2) $0.01 per 10,000 storage transactions

Does it not have a data transfer rate?

    Are following charges:

$0.15 per GB transferred from North America & Europe locations
$0.20 per GB transferred from other locations

    applicable on Azure storage.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Yes, this applies to Azure storage.

The charges for data transfer on storage apply when data is transfered out if the datacenter. There is no charge between Azure storage and applications hosted in the same data center.

    Regards,

    Alan

  • thanks!

In nutshell with storage we have Size cost + no. of transactions cost + data transfer cost (if data is transferred between different data centers )

    ok.

    Thanks for unclouding my confusion.

  • Is there a charge on bandwidth between Azure CDN and hosted application in same data center?

  • Eric, bandwidth in the same DC should not be charged. Please call support to verify this, but this is my understanding.
