Windows Kernel Debugger not connecting (net) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I hope I am placing this question in the place where I can be helped.

I am attempting to establish a WinDbg Kernel Debugging connection between a Win10 host and a Win10 (Enterprise LTSB 64bit v.1607) target. - without success.
Hardware used is a ComExpress module with Braswell CPU and Intel I210 NIC (listed as supported by MS for this).
Driver for NIC is up to date.
The same software config I have in place works fine for a different, i7 based module (Intel I218-LM NIC).

I can ping both ways, I have completely disabled the firewall on both sides for testing, no luck getting a connection going.

Any suggestions what else can be tried?!

  • I think I found part of the issue but not the answer:

On the problematic board (of which I have several). I cannot see the NIC flagged in the Device Manager as being reserved for debugging.

  • Ok, this has been resolved.

After being handed the wrong ComExpress module, this is happening in Intel Apollo Lake ES samples, NOT on Braswell.
I hope the issue will not carry on into the final product.
