BizSpark licensing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello experts,

I am BizSpark subscriber (account: Visual Studio Enterprise with MSDN (BizSpark Administrator)). I have two questions:

    1. I would like to download Windows server and sql server from my msdn software and install them to my customer network on production. Is it possible and right with licensing of BizSpark?

    2. About software itself. After 3 years when my subscription expires. Whether software i've downloaded during subscription will be still working and am i able to use it further?

P.S If possible please include links which says about that.

  • Dear Jimmy,

    1. The answer would be no you can't use your MSDN subscription Softwares / Product Keys on a production environment, please do check this link for more details.

    2. Yes, all the softwares and product keys which you have obtained from your MSDN subscription should work. You can use it even your MSDN subscription is expired / ended. But please do understand that once your MSDN subscription is expired you can't download Softwares or generate from your MSDN subscription.

  • so why they said that i can use my software for commercial usage - isn't that commercial like developing programs in Visual studio within bizspark license?

Can you please tell me where they have mentioned that the Visual Studio Subscription w/ MSDN license can be used in a production/commercial environment?

Please do understand that BizSpark subscription is only for testing and developing purpose, all BizSpark benefits like, Visual Studio Subscription, Azure, Office 365 are only for testing and developing purpose only.

Please do let me know if you should have any further clarifications. Of if you believe my answer is useful please mark it as answered.

    Thanks

  • I mean for instance to write application in Visual Studio and sell it

I suppose you can do that using Windows Developer Account. Though i would suggest you to contact the MSDN customer support regarding your clarification.

    Thanks
