WinCE 6.0R2 , Secure DDNS, DNS Update and authentication RRS feed

  • Hi

I'm currently working on a project where we need to update (register) the device's network name and IP (v4) address in the DNS server (Windows Server 2003). This server needs authentication and flatly refuses any unsecure DNS updates. Secure DDNS needs Kerberos authentication which is supported on WinCE 6.0. However the documentation in VS2005 is pretty scant on the issues and some extensive searches on the net (and here) hasn't provided any enlightenment on the matter. Is there anyone here who has done this and would be gratious enough to share some samples or implementation hint?

Would Kerberos authentication be the way to go for other DNS servers (aka Linux\Unix) too?

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    BR
