    Hello All,

From time to time I receive the following errors when sending messages via the SAP adapter:

http://Microsoft.Adapters.Sap/RfcServerConnection/8e853c7b-5396-40e6-9445-2cae8f1debdd/RaiseError: The RequestContext on the IReplyChannel was closed without a reply being sent.DefaultDomain

The adapter "WCF-Custom" raised an error message. Details "System.InvalidOperationException: Error sending reply to SAP. A response for this RFC Server request has been sent before.
       at Microsoft.Adapters.SAP.SAPInboundCountractReply.AdapterReply(Message message, TimeSpan timeout)
       at Microsoft.Adapters.AdapterUtilities.AdapterInboundReply.Reply(Message message, TimeSpan timeout)
       at Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.Channels.AdapterRequestContext.Reply(Message message, TimeSpan timeout)
       at Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.Channels.AdapterRequestContext.Reply(Message message)
       at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.Reply(MessageRpc& rpc)".

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

    Regards,

    Raicho

  • Most probably yes. The only time I have seen the error message you've described above, was due to the receive timeout being low.

  • What is the receive timeout on the binding?

  • Hello Mustansir,

The receive timeout of the send port is set to a small value -  10 minutes.

Is it the reason for this new error?

  • We configured the receive timeout to be 23 hours and the SAP was configured to send IDOCs every 1/2 hour.

But last week we received the error one more time. Can you advice us what to do?

  • Which error did you get? The "RFC_INVALID_HANDLE" one, or the one which says "The RequestContext was closed without a Reply being sent"?

  •

We received several times "The RequestContext was closed without a Reply being sent" error and at the end we got RFC_INVALID_HANDLE together with a COM exception 0xC0C0163C

  • A COM exception indicates that something caused the BizTalk port to shut down. You should most probably get a support contact to investigate what is causing the BizTalk ports to shut down. Since the port is getting shut down, the SAP Adapter throws an error since it hasn't received a reply on the Receive Location.
