WHCK: CHAOS & Sleep and PNP (disable and enable) with IO Before and After (Certification) running for ever RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are running WHCK on windows 8 (rtm) 32/64 bit machines for PCIe based storage controller. The driver is storport based miniport driver.

When executing the CHAOS and “Sleep and PNP (disable and enable) with IO Before and After “ tests, we are facing a problem.

The expected runtime for CHAOS and “Sleep and PNP (disable and enable) with IO Before and After “ tests is around 5 hrs. But both of the test cases runs for a very long time without giving any results (max observed is approx.16+ hrs) and finally we need to do a manual reboot to continues the test.  After a manual reboot the test continues and mostly shows RUNTest as failed but sometimes it passes also.

Also there is no crash observed. We also tried running the test with WinDbg but after some time it doesn’t allows to break hence we are not sure about the exact reason for this behavior.

Any suggestion to resolve these issues.

    Thanks,

    Naren

  • Experienced the same problem but I found that the computer was rebooting due to BSOD and the test was started again without noticing the reboot.

Go to "advanced system settings" and uncheck the "reboot automatically" option in startup and recovery tab to make sure it's not the same cas for you.

    best regards,
