SQL AlwaysOn with Azure AD? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to use Windows Azure Active Directory with a SQL Always On Availability group instead of having to spin up an additional VM for DC purposes?

Answers

  • Nope. Azure AD behaves slightly differently in that it can't act as a DC or LDAP directory, and doesn't support the same protocols. You would need a proper DC spun up for this.
