WPF: database VS or BLEND? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody,

for my very first time, I'm developing an WPF application (desktop). I need a very small db (possibly relational) to do simple things as setting primaryKey, dataEntry, search and query. My questions are

     - What is the best way to do it (i mean technology speaking)? for example i heard about Ado.net etc..

     - Blend or VS?

Because I tried to do this in Blend but i cannot see where is the possibility to set primary key for example. Or maybe I have to set by myself a property of type numeric, for that table, then to call it primaryKey?But, as well, is possible to connect different table by foreign key such as relation database?

I used to use Postgresql with pgAdmin and everything there is very clean!

Maybe exists some microsoft technology or way to do it in simple way?

In general I thought to do this:

     1. open the project I created in Blend in VS

     2. create db in VS

     3. then edit and biding it by Blend

    What do u think?

    Thanks in advanced
    Ludo

  • Yes, you will want to do most of the DB work in VS. Blend is great for styling and editing the visuals.
