Setting breakpoint on a particular line in windbg RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am aware that one can put a breakpoint on a particular line in source file using WinDbg using the below example command:

    bp MyDriver!MySource.c:80

But this doesn't seem to work for me. The symbols have been loaded correctly and I am able to debug bp MyDriver!MyFunction way. Did I miss anything?

  • No you did not miss anything, first you might want to do this with the GUI. since you might have a statement that Windbg thinks spans lines, so where you say 80 it wants 81.    If this does not fix it, did you do this before the driver was loaded, or at a breakpoint after the driver was loaded?  I sometimes find that Windbg may miss one if it is before loading.
