VS2017: Team Explorer - Solutions not showing TFS Solutions

    Question

  • Hi,

I previously had VS2017 RC installed and after the upgrade to the official release I cannot see the solution files on Team Explorer. They still show in VS2015, and did show prior to the VS2017 upgrade.

I have checked the workspaces and binding's of the folder, I am able to open the solutions manually but it just won't list them in the Solutions section(!)

    Screen shots below.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • It happens that it is not a bug but a "by design" decision.

"The Visual Studio team has determined that this issue is not a bug. We have moved the management of solutions from Team Explorer to Solution Explorer. We are working on making this more discoverable.

To access your solutions, once you’re in an active repository, click "Show Folder View" on the Solutions section of the Team Explorer home page. That will open the folder in Solution Explorer. From there, click the dropdown to the right of the home icon see the solutions that were discovered."

  • That is super disappointing(!) :(

If that is the case I will just continuing on VS2015, I surf too many projects to have to do that malarkey every-time.

    Thanks Carlos!
