  • hi all,
    if i draw a circle on the art board and and divided it into 4 slices, is there a way to color in the pie slices with different colors? or what would be the best way to do that?

  • Hey Rod,

    draw the circle, place your two lines over the circle which cut the circle into quarters (dont worry if the lines cross the circle and are not exact as it wont matter.

    select all of the objects (the circle plus the two lines) and on the Path menu (action bar at bottom) select Divide.

    This will create 4 segments and remove the lines that were over the edge of the circle. (Remember when drawing the lines hold down the shift key to constrain them to a straight line).

    Look in the layers panel you will have 4 shapes. Select them all again and group them (Ctrl + G) to make sure the circle stays together.

    Now you can color the individual pie pieces by selecting them (Group select) and just filling them or stroking them in the usual way.

  • but all i did to divide the circle was to draw 2 lines crossing inside the circle. is that correct?
