crash & dump generated... sometimes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

sometimes my server(s)  starts crashing when I ran SSIS packages.
    this generates a minidump file.
when this problems starts, my only option is to reduce the number of concurrent packages by changing the maxconcurrent option.

most of the time everything works fine.
but when the problems occurs, this can be for many hours and the day after the maxconcurrent option parameter is no longer required and the crash no longer occurs.
(so during a development process, I ran the ETLs many times in the day and these crashes slow down my dev time)

my servers are up-to-date and the problem occurs on all of my servers. (with different packages)
what I can do to reduce this behavior?
what are the major reasons which produce a crash?

    thanks.

  • Hello,

could you create a bug on the connect (connect.microsoft.com) site and attach some of your mini-dump files. Also, try to send us all of those dump files through the Dr. Watson service. If this is affecting your business I suggest you contact the Customer Support to request a prompt investigation.

It is hard to tell what could be causing the crashes. From your description, you might be hitting some bugs that surface in high memory pressure conditions.

    Thanks,
    Bob
