soft key functionality

I am new to the whole mobile framework and have had to write some asp.net pages for our software.  I do not have a smartphone or pda, so I'm not used to how they work but one of the managers says that the pages need to use soft keys.  Can asp.net pages use the soft keys are is that functionality limited to an actual mobile application running on the pda/phone?  Can anyone suggest a good tutorial that covers this?  Thanks.

You can always try the emulator for your target device.

I don't think you have to do anything special to deal with softkeys. PDAs/SmartPhone also have keyboards.
