Sketchflow generation of documentation --> pluggable? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I like the Sketchflow feature that allows us to generate documentation(you can even choose a word template), but I would like to go one step further,Is it possible to create your own documentation generation extension? Is there some way to access the model of an Sketchflow prototype to generate customized documentation?

  • There are no built in or supported extensibility points in the product for this purpose. However, in the completely unsupported, subject to change without notice category, you could use the data contained within the Sketch.Flow file. This file contains the data about the project. This will not however contain any screenshots like you get with Export to Word. You would have to combine the two.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you. If you would like me to pass your ideas on to the team feel free to post them here, or email me at first.last@microsoft.com using my name.

  • Hi Chuck,

I'm looking forward to be able to customize the word export process.

In my sketchflow I have links to some TFS work items. Using the TFS API I'd be able to access this work items and insert this information in the word document generated using the Expression.
