Unable to publish workflow with Task Process in SharePoint Designer 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I'm unable to publish workflow with task process in SharePoint Designer 2013 on one of the machines, but on the other it was ok. Machines should have the same configuration.

When I click "Check for errors", it says there is no errors. But when I click publish I receive an error:

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

Microsoft.Workflow.Client.ActivityValidationException: Workflow XAML failed validation due to the following errors:
Cannot set unknown member 'CompositeTask.RelatedContentLinkListItemIntegerId'. HTTP headers received from the server - ActivityId: 2c107999-7f0f-4aaf-934b-93a665340459. NodeId: PROJECT2013. Scope: /SharePoint/default/b573b222-7591-4007-935a-a83c013afd4a/6d229172-05c9-45c5-acb6-59fcbbf290e4. Client ActivityId : b2420b9c-5a05-9003-67f4-4c97f4ef112e. ---> System.Net.WebException:

For testing I used new workflow with one stage and one task. If I remove task process and add "wait for project event (project submit)", then publish works.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something? Is the problem with configuration?

  • If i remember correctly some time back this same kind of error was posted back in some other forum perhaps SharePoint one, and it had to do with 2 things either some problem with SSL certificate or SharePoint designer itself

in the former case the resolution was based on reregistering the workflow service with -AllowOauthHttp -Force switch or correcting the SSL certificate

Where as in latter case reinstalling the SharePoint designer had fixed the issue
