  • Question

  • hi there,

i recently installed vista on my vaio vgn-fs790b.

i had xp-sp2 on it as original os, so i downloaded the required updates from sony e-support.

    everything is ok but soundcard.

i have the sound by booting the os but afterwards no other sound.

the information of driver installed are:

    • High Definition Audio Device
    • Sound, video and game controllers
    • Digital Output Device (SPDIF)
    • Microsoft
    • 2006-06-21
    • 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)

would appreciate if someone could help me to solve the problem.

    thanks a lot.

  • My usual suggestion here is to fiddle with your drivers... beyond that, this forum isn't going to be terribly helpful.

  • hi Guatam,

    it`s so easy.

i just installed the proper driver, which for my PC and Vista version was "Vista_R170"!

i did download it from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. website.

it`s about 17MB. if you want i can send it to you via e-mail, just send me your e-mail address.

    i hope it`ld work.

    take care,
