Are Inetpub and wwwroot folders required for any reason? RRS feed

    Hello,

I have a need to develop a a combination .net and Wordpress site. This is for a small business intranet where there are a lot of .net forms already in use. The Wordpress part will be largely used on the front page. I've started a new website in IIS and have Wordpress functioning. I would like to add an asp. net parent directory to house the asp stuff inside the root directory.

I was wondering if the Inetpub and wwwroot folders names normally used in the Microsoft web environment have any particular purpose or magic powers that I need to maintain, or are the names Inetpub and wwwroot just a convention.

    Thanks

Those are simply convention names for wwwroot. INETPUB is part of the installer. As long as you go into IIS and ensure you are pointing at the right directory, you can name that directory anything you want.

That's what I thought, but didn't know if the names might have been referrenced by something else.

    Thank you,
