Bing Maps SDK Release Notes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a central location for the release notes for the Bing Maps SDK for Windows Store?  I've gotten several updates since we first started using it, and I'd really like to know what's changing.  I see independent posts here and there for some releases, but we really need a single location or threat (as has been mentioned here before)

  • Here are the release notes for the last release that I was able to get. We are working getting these added to the download page of the SDK.

    1. Fixes the bug where ‘Microsoft’ namespace in the maps SDK conflicts with other native SDKs using same namespace. The maps sdk would not load earlier, but with below steps it can load now:

    a. Add snippet before referencing sdk js files in html file as below:

        <script>

            window.$MapsNamespace = 'MicrosoftJS';

        </script>

    b. Then replace the newly created custom namespace with ‘Microsoft’ as below:

                  MicrosoftJS.Maps.loadModule('Microsoft.Maps.Map', { callback: createMap, culture: 'us', homeRegion: 'en-us' });

    1. Enable geopol regions, which were restricted earlier (Argentina, Azerbaijani, China, India, South Korea, Morocco, Pakistan, Singapore, Venezuela)
    2. Fix infobox positioning bug.

  • I mentioned this to our dev team recently and asked them to provide such notes. In the past they have posted these notes on the forums but I'm hopeful these will be added to the download page.
