HIS Session Integrator TN3270 - internal error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using HIS SI in TN3270 mode and was making good progress despite the lack of documentation. I was able to connect and both recieve and send updates to the mainframe.  It was working fine last night.

    This morning, I am getting an error when trying to connect: "Method failed due to an internal error."

    Here is the code snippet I am using:

    Microsoft.HostIntegration.SNA.Session.SessionConnectionDisplay conn;

    Microsoft.HostIntegration.SNA.Session.SessionDisplay display;

    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

    {

    display = new Microsoft.HostIntegration.SNA.Session.SessionDisplay();

    conn = new Microsoft.HostIntegration.SNA.Session.SessionConnectionDisplay();

    conn.Transport = SessionDisplayTransport.TN3270;

    //conn.HostCodePage = 37;

    conn.TN3270Port = 23;

    conn.TN3270Server = textBox3.Text;

    conn.DeviceType = TNDeviceType.IBM3279Model5E;

    display.Connect(conn);

    display.WaitForSession(SessionDisplayWaitType.PLUSLU, 5000);

    }

    I have tried everything I can think of including uninstalling and reinstalling HIS, installing on another system.

    Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Hi David,

    Can you make sure that Host System is up and running as well.
    You may take a network trace and see what is going on. Also there will be the option to run HIS SI tracees using HIS tracetool. HIS trace viewer will give the output of trace then. The HIS documentation will tell how to use trace tool more in deep.
