SQL Server 2000 + VB6: "Server has not yet been opened" RRS feed

  • Hi! I've got an application that was perfectly working above our ancent schema. When we tried to migrate to another server, it crashed continuosly, reporting the error described in the title. Please, gimme some clue about this.

  • It looks like you are missing some dlls, if this is working on one system and issue on a different system.

  • Thx for your interest! However, at migration time, the app stop working even in the old server. This server used to implement an Active Directory controller (that is the thing migrated to the new server -besides the ip schema-).

  • OLD SERVER: Win2000 Advanced + MS SQL Server 2000

    NEW SERVER: Win2008 Enterprise Edition R2 + MS SQL Server 2008

    Did you make ODBC changes as most of VB applications work around this to contact SQL servers.

  • Hi! i didn't made any changes, because we don't have access to the app code. That's our bigger issue. However, the program was working correctly before the migration. The other services (including other db app) were perfectly migrated. Thxs!
