Customize context menu in Project 2007/2010. How To? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm  developing a custom Addin in c# for Project 2007/2010. I need to show a form with additional information (my company additional properties) about a selected task. My idea is to modify context menu that appear after right click  mouse on selected task and insert a new menu item like "Edit my Company Properties...". How can I do? In outlook there is an application level event like ContextMenuDisplay that give me the CommandBar object of context menu.. In Project Object Model I didn't find something similar event...

  • Hi Rolando,

I don't think you can customize the context menu in Microsoft Project.

You could add a button to a toolbar (2007) or the Ribbon (2010) that can be used to show your form and update Task details.

    I hope this helps,
    Hans

  • thanks Hans,

I had already thought to add a button (like properties icon) on toolbar or ribbon but my toolbar/ribbon is already full of buttons and as the double click taken by standard project task properties I thought that add a label on context menu was the  best thing.

    Best regards
