How to get certification for NDIS Protocol Driver? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have to develop a NDIS protocol driver for a customer and he want to get this driver certified by Microsoft. Badly, I did not fin any information about NDIS protocol driver certification on Microsoft web site or even into the WHCK documentation.

Is someone already get certification for such driver?

How can I test a NDIS protocol driver using WHCK?

    Any hints will be appreciated!

  • Hi Martin,

Are you talking about NDIS miniport driver or protocol driver is different? For every kind of LAN driver testing, test bed setup should be same. You can check the HCK User Guide to check how to setup the SUTs for NDIS driver testing. Please check this link for test bed setup details http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/hh997862.aspx.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Martin,

I don't have an idea about the development of protocol driver. The link  I posted above is related to Certification of any kind of NDIS driver. For development of protocol drivers, please refer to the MSFT NDIS protocol driver architecture . This link might help you http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff566823%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
