Office 2013 Fluent UI Schema for Excel RRS feed

  • Question

  • It would be very helpful to have access to the office 2013 ribbon x schema and to know the schema namespace.  Based on what I have seen in a number of posts here and elsewhere, it looks like a number of others are looking for the same information.  Any help you can provide in this area would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Bill,

    Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum trying out Office 2013.

    The schema you asked relates to Office UI mostly, however, in the preview version of Office, UI may still subject to change. I think that's why the new schema is not released yet.

    We should be able to see updated version in final release, stay tuned. Follow up this page should be helpful:

  • hi Folks,

    So is the Fluent UI Namespace address published yet for O2013 - can't seem to find it in these forums but the product is out.

    I'm looking for the 2013 equivalent to the 2007/2010 addresses below:

    for Office 2007
      <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui" onLoad="Ribbon_Load">
           for Office 2010
      <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui" onLoad="Ribbon_Load">

    Since I have to update my 2010 XML UI to match the "ALL CAPs" style used for Tabs in MS Word 2013.

    Thanks,

  • Although Office 2013 has been released, I'm not able to locate the 2013 ribbon x schema for Excel.  Is Microsoft going to publish the schema and if so, when? A number of other people are asking the same question.  Any light you can shed on this would be very much appreciated.

  • Yes, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/office/aa905530 doesn't provide the answer despite Office 2013 having now been released.

    Anyone know the schema (i.e. http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui equivalent) for Office 2013?

    I need to update to the new flat style icons in a template.

  • I'm also in very urgent need of this schema, Office 2013 is released and no sign of the schema - what's going on Microsoft?

  • WTF, it's half-way through 2014, why hasn't this schema been published?  This is crap!

  • As is turns out, for Excel 2013, Microsoft extended the 2010 ribbon schema.  From what I can tell, 3 "tabs" were added to the backstage view for excel 2013.  Their idMso's are TabOfficeStart, TabPublish and TabSave.  Ron de Bruin has an excellent article on the Excel Backstage view that covers this.  It can be found at http://www.rondebruin.nl/win/s2/win005.htm.  As always, Ron did a great job laying this out.
