What are VS2010 "Upgrade" Purchases?

Question

In Scott Gu's recent post, VS2010 and .NET 4 Released he mentions that you can "upgrade" to VS2010 with a special $299 price.
This is fantastic since Microsoft chopped off the very tasty $299 Standard SKU. But I am confused as to what this requires an upgrade from (as VS2010 is a standalone). Does it simply require any VS2008 SKU to be installed? His post mentions Standard, but what about anything other than Standard, like Team Suite or Professional?
Thanks.
