Identifying WiFi Access Points RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am looking for a command line application or programmatic solution that lists the essid and mac addresses of the wireless access points in range. I have tried many of the examples off of the internet, yet none of them seem to output the proper information after XP SP2 update. It seems that wmic may assist in this, but its unclear. There are a few libraries available, but all of them require the user to disable the zeroconf service. I am willing to work in any language, so long as it prints to standard output, not a GUI. Java is preferred. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about this?
