Silverlight and SQL CE connectivity problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed a website in silverlight, used SQL Server Compact Edition as database.
The website is running fine when run through VSTS 2008.
But when the I deploy it to IIS server, I am facing following problem:
I am able to see the silverlight components, but it does not show data that is to be retrived from database. it does not give any error or throw exception.
I have following things installed :
    Windows Server 2003
    IIS Server 6
    Silverlight 3
    SQL CE 2.0
    RIA Services

I checked the connection string and added mime type to server
Can Someone help me with this problem.

  • Did you add the following line to your application. Some where before trying to access DB.

     AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetData("SQLServerCompactEditionUnderWebHosting", True)

By default IIS doesn't allow connection to SQL Ce
