    I was reading a article regarding point to site and site to site vpn in Azure. In that article auther was using this word.

  • It's not Azure specific, but look at it like a DTAP (Development, Testing, Acceptance, Production) environment as you see in server related setups. In network setups that is usually classified as VLANs. Someone can have a management VLAN and development VLAN with a certain configuration. That's where they do the building. From there they move on to a staging and/or testing VLAN and finally when no problems occur publish it to the production VLAN.
