How to display a TileLayer in Birdseye mode (AJAX v8.0)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We always had a custom tile layer in BirdsEye view in v7.0 which worked flawlessly. In 8.0 I can't seem to get it work, though.

An 7.0 example throws an SRS error (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e853a869-3758-4cf7-85e2-fa6ecb4d039f/how-to-display-a-tilelayer-in-birdseye-mode-ajax-v70?forum=bingmapsajax) and all other attempts simply aren't show in the map (no tile requests at all).

Is this supported at all in v8?

  • Tile layers in birdseye were never officially supported in v7, and were a bit of an accident that they worked. Very few used tile layers in Birdseye and this supporting this in v8 is a low priority, although on the feature request list. It likely won't be added for a while though as Birdseye in v8 is completely different from v7 and uses completely different tiles sizes and has a lot of additional zoom levels. Birdseye in v8 is similar to street side where it is a completely seperate control from the map control.

there is no option to stay on v7 past the redirect date in October.

Thank you for your reply. So we are forced to use a newer version which doesn't support functionality we use?

Can we somehow keep the relevant part of the API locally so we can still keep using this function?
