V7 Add text inside a polygon ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

In the version 6.3 of the bing map API there was a possibilty to add text inside a polygon by adding some customization to it.

But i don't see that possibility in the version 7? How can I add text inside (centered?) a polygon ?

    Thanks

  • You can calculate the center of the polygon and place a pushpin here that has the text you want to display.

  • The adding of a pushpin to a polygon in v6.3 was actually something that caused more work for most people as most people didn't want that. That's why it is not in v7. If you want a pushpin for your polygon then you will need to add that in.

  • Hello,

Thanks, indeed this could been a nice idea.

However, I remember that when i was playing with the 6.3 API when i was putting polygon from a KML file there was a pushpin automaticaly added in the center of the polygon. Is there a way to that with V7 ? automaticaly add a pushpin to the center of the polygon. or i "have to" calculate the centroid by hand (i know how to do that but it's a bit heavy)

    thanks
