Ribbon XML - idMSO for styles sub-menu? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm trying to hide the styles submenu when on the right click  context menu (ContextMenuText) with something like:

    <customUI>

      <contextMenus>
        <contextMenu idMso="ContextMenuText">
          <menu idMso="Styles" visible="false" />

    The example for hiding the FontDialog works fine.  But I don't know what idMso to use for the styles sub-menu?

    I've tried various of the items in WordControls.xlsx, but to no avail.

    thanks .. Jason

  • Hi Jason,

    Maybe its not properly documented but works.  I haven't found any mso id's that don't work in the context menus, but admittedly I have not tried a large number of them.

    Try this. It works for me.  Word 2010.

    <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui"

    onLoad="RBNCTM">

    <contextMenus>

    <contextMenu idMso="ContextMenuText">

    <gallery idMso="QuickStylesGallery"

    visible="false" />

    </contextMenu>

    </contextMenus>

    </customUI>
