How to avoid Outlook security alert while reading CC and BCC list RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am using ItemSend event to get cc/bcc list. But this gives a outlook security alert to end users

    MailItem mailMsg = Item as MailItem;

    if (mailMsg != null)
    {

        toList = mailMsg.To; //this line gives security alert.
        bccList = mailMsg.BCC;
    }

    Is there a way to avoid this alert ? At the time of Addin installation, I marked the addin as Trusted.

    Regards

  • What does the security alert say?  Does it say "A program is trying to access e-mail addresse information stored in Outlook ..."

    The "To" property and also "cc" and "bcc" properties of a MailItem are protected properties in Outlook 2003 and 2007 accourding to this detailed article:

    Yes, your addin is trusted enough for Outlook to let you run your addin, however your Trust Settings appear to be set to "Warn me about suspicious activity..." by either Group Policy at your company, or by default because your antivirous software is out of date.
