    I am trying to download a file using Background Intelligent Transfer Service(BITS) using SharpBits.dll. The download is successful when I use http. But when I shift to https and authentication using self signed certificate I get the following error. the host name in the certificate is invalid or does not match I have the certificate as part of trusted people . Can anyone point me how to solve it.

    Hi,

    When occur the above error, it means that something are wrong with your certificate.
    When using a self-signed certificate, there is no chain of trust. Because the certificate has signed itself.

    So in your case, the SSL certificates are required in order to using the HTTPS protocol.
