Container ID XXXXXXX cannot be mapped to a host ID RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there (again)!

I updated an image that turned out to contain an error. Azure pulled it, I saw my mistake and updated a refreshed image, and now I am getting an error

"failed to register layer: Error processing tar file(exit status 1): Container ID 3428858 cannot be mapped to a host ID"

Is there anything I can do to try to unstick my container and get it moving again?

  • Are you referring to this documentation How to: use a custom Docker image from Docker Hub for the steps?

There is a discussion on similar thread here, you may look into that.

You may restart your site which should pull the latest image. As stated here, you can restart your site container via the portal or the command line.

Also, you may review the “App settings” under the “Application settings” blade to delete any unwanted item (Do exercise caution before deleting any key).
