RGB24 is not supported by Wince7 if xaml/silverlight is used? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I'm using a LCD with 24 data lines, so it's r8g8b8.

    but in xaml source code I see:

    MemorySurface::AllocateBitmap()

    {

     case XRPixelFormat_pixelColor32bpp_X8R8G8B8:
            break;

    }

    which is very strange.

    I'd like to check if there is anyone use 24 dataline lcd and xaml at the same time?

  • RGB888 and ARGB are same except the alpha blending byte. If the data line is 24 bit and the display configuration is 32 bit, still the system should work.

    Can you tell us what is the problem that you are facing.

    Regarding unsupported display format of RGB 565 is 16 bit format which your system is not supporting as it is 24 bit.

    But any format of size 24 bit or 32 bit should be supported.

  • Just to add further support to this thread, I am working on a project which uses a Silverlight Embedded GUI displayed on a 24-bit LCD interface and it works ok.
