OffLineFileTimeoutInterval RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to change the default timeout value when accessing offline files?

    The following website http://blogs.msdn.com/b/openspecification/archive/2013/03/19/cifs-and-smb-timeouts-in-windows.aspx

suggests a registry setting. I've tried this setting and the name OffLineFileTimeoutInterval liste by other websites. But every time I access the file the client kills the connection approximately 1000 seconds after the offline is accessed.

Please note, I've also added the SessTimeout DWORD to the registry as well. This value is set to 2000 as well as the attempts at setting the OfflineFileTimeoutInterval.

My client is running Windows 7 64-bit
