This computer cannot connect to the remote computer.

Question

why does this happen?

I cannot connect to the remote computers.

I create a new machine, try to RDP to it, accept that I am connecting with a different version of RDP, then I getthis error.

I have a Win 7 PC trying to RDP to newly created Win 2012 server.

Hi,

Do you have other Azure VMs? If yes, I recommend you to check if you can RDP into other VMs and make sure RDP related ports are not blocked on your local computer.

In addition, please check the status of the VM and make sure it is running.

Please also check the quick glance of the VM in the management portal of the VM and ensure all the parameters for the VMs are displaying.

Make sure the VM is running. It takes a while after you created a new machine before it's ready.
