Access 2019 - Table field calculation issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I try to check if the columns (variables) are filled or not via field calculation.

    IIf(IsNull([var1]=1) Or IsNull([var2]=1);1;0)

Data type of var1 and var2 is short string.

if the value of var1 or var2 is string, then error message: #Type!

This equation works at: access2019 quantity license.

The equation does not work at Office365 and access2019 key license (error message).

I would use this equation so it would be nice if Office365 and key license version of Access2019 would operate correctly.

  • Hi. Just curious... What happens if you use True? For example,

    IIf(IsNull([var1])=True OR IsNull([var2])=True;1;0)

  • To return True/False, it can be reduced to:

    ([var1]+[var2]) Is Null
